If you are a student of an accredited college or university, full or part time, who is taking courses in order to pursue a career in the various phases of the science of identification or the law enforcement field and are interested in becoming a student member of the TN IAI, please visit the Membership section of the website to apply.


The TN IAI awards a $500 scholarship for full-time or $250 for part-time students each semester. Any candidate for the scholarship must meet the following requirements:

  1. A full/part time student at an accredited college/university
  2. A minimum 3.0 GPA for first time applicants and a 2.75 GPA to reapply (transcripts required)
  3. Sophomore year or higher (Thirty (30) semester hours not including remedial or developmental classes)
  4. A summary of the applicant’s academic and career goals
  5. Two (2) letters of recommendation on letterhead directly submitted to the TN IAI
  6. The funds must be used for tuition and/or books during the semester
